It represents the minimum viable build I would personally consider for AAA titles in 2022. It assumes you are willing to compare prices on your local market and whatever country you reside in and make smart purchasing decisions for yourself. If your system is an SFF (small form factor), you can still do this and run it in an open case until you can afford a replacement case. There is currently not much else you can do. Please genuinely consider these investments. AsRock calls this multi core enhancement or something. Keep in mind, if you are on a real H81 board (not an OEM office one) I would suggest getting the E3 1240 v3 instead, because these older boards allow you to overclock the all core boost frequency to the single core frequency and gain another 400 Mhz under full load or so. I'm posting the below, because you are already on the same platform as these suggestions. Just head over to your task manager and click on the performance tab at the top, then make sure on the left side its clicked onto the cpu tab (should be by default) and from there you can see what i5 you actually have. Also its better for you to check what cpu you have, because simply saying its an i5 is not really specific enough, it could be an i5 2nd gen, 3rd gen, or 4th gen. But from my research i found that the strongest gpu you can put in your pc with 240w of psu is the gtx 1650, now idk the form factor of your pc it could be a full tower (which means standard size gpu would be able to fit) or it could be a sff (which means only low profile gpu would be able to fit) so you gotta find out which size it is. I ended up migrating the cpu, mobo, ram to a new bigger case and bought myself a rx 570 4gb gpu and a new 550w psu. I did a lot of research regarding the pc because i wanted to know how i can fit a normal size gpu (because the pc i had is a small form factor (sff) meaning its really small and only a low profile gpu would fit) and also if the psu is able to handle it. I had a similar pc like yours, i5 4590 12gb ddr3 and 240w psu. This will help you find an answer without having to wait for a response.
